Orisha Commerce strengthens its strategic position in the Southern European and Latin American market with two new appointments
Mar Vieiro becomes the new Executive Director Iberia and Xavier Places the new Sales Director Southern Europe and Latin America.
With the recent acquisitions in the Netherlands and Sweden of Optimizers and Wolfpack DCS integrated into the Orisha Commerce BU, Marco de Vries has expanded his scope of responsibility as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Orisha Commerce.
Orisha Commerce is a business unit of the French Orisha Group and specializes in SaaS solutions for unified commerce. Openbravo, Fastmag, Ginkoia, Optimizers, Cow Hills and Wolfpack DCS are part of its portfolio.

The transition from Orisha Retail Chains to Orisha Commerce, the Orisha Group’s business unit specialized in B2C, D2C and B2B SaaS solutions for unified commerce for both online and offline retail, and which integrates products from Openbravo, Cow Hills, Fastmag, Ginkoia, Optimizers and Wolfpack DC in its portfolio, not only involves an extension to digital commerce of its existing offering of solutions focused on primarily retail physical store, but also in its structure.
Marco de Vries, who has been CEO of Orisha Retail Chains since July 2023, will continue to be CEO of Orisha Commerce globally. But the change comes with Mar Vieiro, who assumes the responsibility of being the new Executive Director for Iberia at Orisha Commerce, while Xavier Places takes over as the new Sales Director for Southern Europe and Latin America. With these new appointments, the company strengthens its strategic position in these markets.
Mar Vieiro takes over leadership in Iberia
Mar Vieiro has been leading Openbravo’s sales strategy since her arrival in 2022, strengthening its presence in Southern Europe and Latin America. Under her sales management, the company has driven growth, especially in the Iberian market, with the addition of new customers such as Leroy Merlin and Obramat in Spain and Portugal (Adeo Group), ToysRUs and Prenatal (PRG Group), Sabor a España, Equivalenza and Naulover among others, and the enhancement of its collaboration with existing customers such as Deporvillage, Rolcar, La Europa and the development of its partner network.
Xavier Places makes the leap to sales management
Xavier Places is a historical member of the company, having occupied different management positions and since 2017 as Openbravo’s Global Marketing Director, positioning the Openbravo brand as an international reference in SaaS solutions for retail.
For Places, this jump to Sales Director for Southern Europe and Latin America is “a major challenge, although it comes at an unbeatable time. Our large portfolio of solutions and solid value proposition makes us better prepared than ever to support retailers and brands in their unified commerce needs, thereby strengthening our position in the market. With this objective in mind, my priority will be to consolidate and grow our clients’ pipeline, relying on all the experience and capabilities that Orisha Commerce offers.”
