Frequently asked questions

How does Openbravo Web Order Preparation work?

Openbravo Web Order Preparation operates in the following manner:

1. An eCommerce order is received through a standard business-level API that supports various scenarios, including prepaid or partially paid orders.

2. The solution accesses available inventory information and applies configured fulfillment rules, such as the requirement to prepare an order from a single location.

3. Based on this evaluation, order preparation requests are automatically generated at each location, marked as Confirmed or Not Confirmed.

4. Each location has the ability to accept or reject a Not Confirmed request. In the event of rejection, an alternative location will be automatically selected.

5. The solution facilitates real-time communication with the eCommerce platform, ensuring seamless updates on the order status.

The solution is specifically designed to seamlessly support the Ship-from-Store fulfillment method.

What are fulfillment rules, and how do they impact web order fulfillment?

Fulfillment rules are criteria that retailers can utilize to determine the optimal location for fulfilling web orders. By leveraging fulfillment rules, retailers can streamline the order fulfillment process and enhance operational efficiency. By-default fulfillment rules include:

  1.
  2. 1. Single location fulfillment: Prepare orders from a single location to consolidate operations and streamline fulfillment processes.
  3.
  4. 2. Minimize shipments: Optimize shipments to customers by consolidating items from multiple orders into a single shipment whenever possible.
  5.
  6. 3. Specific location fulfillment: Fulfill orders from a specific list of locations, allowing for targeted inventory utilization and efficient order preparation.

What happens if a proposed location rejects an assigned order preparation request?

In the event that a proposed location rejects an assigned order preparation request, the system will automatically search for alternative locations based on the defined rules. This ensures that the order is fulfilled promptly, even if the initially assigned location is unable to handle the request.

How does the system determine which stores to consider?

This is established during configuration. Stores are grouped together, and the system intelligently identifies alternative locations from the same group as needed, ensuring flexibility and efficiency.
